Front Shade Garden & Meadow Habitat
This historic house in Arlington, Massachusetts had a 30 year old yew hedge that had overtaken the front yard. A magnificent Linden anchored the left side and became a key focal point of the woodland garden once the hedge was removed. Gardens were created along the sidewalk edge and complimented the mature magnolia and dogwood that were there.
Tackling invasive plants and weeds was imperative prior to planting a meadow garden in the adjacent sunken garden lot. Designed to be low maintenance, the garden was planted with shrubs, trees and perennials with a mulch path that takes you through to the bottom.
